To launch their brand new Children's Heritage Trail, Visit Lichfield is offering the first 50 children a free trail - normally priced at 60p.
To claim a free trail, children need to take their parents to the Tourist Information Centre, based in the Lichfield Garrick, and ask for a free trail by calling out the magic words: ‘Minster Duck'.
The trail, aimed at children between 5 and 12 years of age, guides children and their parents through the historic city of Lichfield. Along the way Minster the Duck asks a series of questions to get children to take a closer look at their impressive surroundings.
Lizzie Thatcher, Visit Lichfield Manager for Lichfield District Council, said: "The tourism team is really excited to launch this new tour. We hope children and parents will jump at the chance to find out lots of fun and interesting facts about the city. From burnings at the stake to Civil War shootings, there is so much to discover. At the end of the tour, children who answer all the questions correctly even to get to claim a special prize sponsored by The Tudor of Lichfield."
The tour sets out from the Tourist Information Centre based in the Lichfield Garrick, and takes in historic sites such as the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum, Minster Pool, the Garden of Remembrance, Beacon Park and much more.
