West Midlands motorway and trunk roads maintenance programme 27 August - 2 September 2007

Roadworks lifted for Motorists travelling over August Bank Holiday Roadworks are being removed from England's motorways and trunk roads - wherever it is safe to do so - to make journeys easier for travellers this August Bank Holiday. Wherever possible, roadworks and lane restrictions will be removed between Friday 24 August 2007 and Tuesday 28 August 2007. All restrictions will be lifted except where there are safety concerns or where taking off restrictions would have a detrimental effect on traffic in the long term.
M6 Junction 8 (Ray Hall)
The link road from M6 southbound to M5 southbound at M6 junction 8 will be closed overnight from 9.00pm to 5.00am from Tuesday 28 August 2007 to Saturday 1 September 2007 as part of the on-going Structural Maintenance contract. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A4123 Burnt Tree Island to Birchley Island
The southbound carriageway will be closed over night from 9.00pm to 5.00am from Monday 13 August 2007 to Monday 3 September 2007 for bridge parapet repairs. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A46 Alcester to Stratford
The A46 will be closed from 00.01am to 6.00am on Tuesday 28 August 2007 and again overnight from 9.00pm to 6.00am from Wednesday 29 August 2007 to Thursday 30 August 2007 for embankment stabilisation and carriageway resurfacing as part of the Taylors Wood to Temple Grafton Major works. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M50 Junction 2 (Bury Court) to M5 Junction 8 (Strensham)
The eastbound carriageway of the M50 between junction 2 and junction 8 of the M5 will be closed overnight from 10.00pm to 5.00am from Tuesday 28 August 2007 to Friday 31 August 2007 for bridge lighting works. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 Junction 5 (Telford West) to Junction 4 (Telford East)
The eastbound carriageway of the M54 between junctions 5 and 4 will be closed overnight from 8.00pm to 6.00am from Saturday 1 September 2007 to Sunday 2 September 2007 for carriageway repairs. This will also include junction 5 eastbound entry slip road. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
