Chasewater Six Week Consultation
| Published: 24th January 2008 12:52 |
Lichfield District Council will be asking for residents views on plans for Chasewater. A consultation will take place from 31st January to 13th March.
An exhibition to display the plans for Chasewater will be open for all to visit at Chasewater Innovation Centre from 31st January to 13th March. A District Council Planning Officer will be on hand to answer any question on Saturday 9th February from 10am to 12 noon.
The documents will also be in Burntwood library, Lichfield District Council House, the Old Mining College in Chasetown and, from January 31st, they will be available to download and comment on at www.lichfieldddc.gov.uk/newldf
The consultation is on the Council's ‘Draft Chasewater Supplementary Planning Document' which suggests improvements to Chasewater County Park. These include developing the park's facilities so they are more appealing for visitors and creating new attractions.
As well as improving its attractions, the Council is also proposing to promote sustainable low carbon technologies to help address climate change for example through education and research.
The Council needs to know whether local people think the proposals include: enough information on protecting nature conservation, should promote existing clubs more, whether the proposed boundaries are too restrictive, and what sort of new facilities and uses the park should promote.
Councillor Neil Roberts, Cabinet Member for Development Services, said: "These are really exciting plans and we're keen to hear what local people think about them. We've been careful to ensure the plans are sensitive to the nature conservation value of the site and hope lots of people are as excited about this development opportunity as we are."
