Zero Waste to Landfill by 2020
| Published: 31st July 2007 14:17 |

Staffordshire's 'Zero Waste to Landfill by 2020' campaign was officially launched in July. The people of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent throw away about 6000,000 tonnes of waste each year. This figure is set to rise over the coming years. Much of this rubbish is sent to lanfill sites, however this is not a long term solution.
The 'Zero Waste to Landfill by 2020' campaign has been set up to try and increase the amount we recycle and to increase the amount of rubbish that is turned into energy, thus resulting in no waste going to landfills at all.
