LICHFIELD POLICE HUNT FOR ARMED ROBBERS

Detectives are appealing for help in tracking down an armed gang which threatened staff during a raid on a convenience store at Shenstone, near Lichfield.
The robbery happened at around 9.30pm on Saturday 15 March (Saturday) when staff at the Tesco Express store in Birmingham Road, were surprised by three men dressed in black and wearing masks.
They threatened staff with what appeared to be a handgun before stealing a small quantity of cash from the till.
No-one was injured, although shop staff were badly shocked.
Detective Constable Noel Hunt of Trent Valley CID, today appealed for information from anyone who was in the area and may have seen anything suspicious.
"We want to hear from anyone who may have seen three or four men in the area acting suspiciously near the store between 9pm and 9.30pm on Saturday or driving away from the scene shortly afterwards," he said.
The thieves ran out of the store and into Churchill Road where police think a car may have been waiting.
"Fortunately, no-one was injured. Staff and customers were badly shocked by the experience and it is important we track down these individuals as quickly as possible, He added.
