TAKE TIME OUT TO REVIEW YOUR BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANS

Businesses are being advised to set time aside to review their Business Continuity plans. Experts warn that many companies are vulnerable and may face significant problems or even closure if hit by a major incident.
Now Staffordshire's Civil Contingencies Unit (CCU) is urging organisations to assess their planning needs during Business Continuity Awareness week (31 March - 4 April).
Andy Marshall, CCU Director, said: "Business Continuity Awareness week should act as a timely reminder to organisations that they need to plan for potential problematic situations and to ensure that they can continue to function through any disruption.
"It is vital for businesses and the local economy that preparations are made by all organisations in the county.
"Businesses can be affected by a range of problems from staff sickness, failure of key suppliers or IT failure, to a major fire or flood.
"All organisations should take action and adopt a Business Continuity Management approach to ensure that they can bounce back when problems occur."
The Business Continuity Institute (www.thebci.org) has a website packed with good advice for organisations looking to update their plans and train staff.
