Local agencies join together to spread ‘Community Pride' in North Lichfield
Local agencies - such as Lichfield District Council, the Police, Fire Service, HomeZone Living, and Midland Heart - are joining forces to tackle anti social behaviour, litter and community issues in North Lichfield this May.
The three day Together Campaign kicks off on Wednesday 28 May with a look at the issues around anti-social behaviour.
The second day, Thursday 29 May, is when organisations and the local community will come together to take part in a huge community clean up. This will involve everyone rolling up their sleeves and taking part in a litter pick from 10am to 2pm. There will also be skips and recycling bins placed behind Jigsaw on Dimbles Lane, from 10am to 4pm, so local people can throw out their household clutter.
As well as graffiti removal, local organisations will take to the streets to look at areas of environmental crime so they can suggest improvements.
The final day, Friday 30 May, is a celebration of North Lichfield. Taking place at Curborough Community Centre from 10am to 3pm, the day of free festivities will include nail art, DJ-ing and mixing workshops, dancing, refreshments and much more. Organisations will also be on hand to offer fire and security advice.
Councillor Ben Adams, Lichfield District Council's new Cabinet Member for Community Safety, said: "North Lichfield has a vibrant and active community. We wanted to celebrate this by holding a Together Campaign. Not only will the campaign see organisations and the community coming together to tackle local issues, it's also a chance to appreciate the community, meet new people and have fun, so please do come along and get involved."
To find out how you can get involved please call Bob Haynes, Community Safety Officer for Lichfield District Council, on 01543 308777.
