Stop Notice Issued

Stop notice issued to business operating without planning permission.
Lichfield District Council issued a ‘stop notice' recently to prevent a company using an empty property at Bells Bridge, in Fradley, as a vehicle washing and valeting business.
The council served the notice because of concerns about how safe it is for vehicles entering and leaving the site onto the A38.
A lack of proper drainage, needed to cope with the extra water from cleaning the vehicles, could also pose safety concerns as water could drain onto the road. Another issue was the disturbance to local residents from noise because the business was operating late into the evening.
Councillor Roberts, Cabinet Member for Development Services, said: "Serving this notice sends out a strong message to people that we take operating a business without the correct planning permission very seriously, and will put a stop to such action. This case was particularly serious as the unauthorised business posed a number of road safety concerns, and so we enforced this notice."
