Health Information Week, a campaign being run across the West Midlands to increase access to health information, will run from 7th-11th July.
Throughout the week, children who take part in South Staffordshire Libraries' ever popular children's sessions will enjoy stories and rhymes with a healthy living theme designed to encourage them and their parents to eat their ‘five a day.'
Youngsters taking part will then get a head start with a free banana, which have been jointly funded by Staffordshire County Council and South Staffordshire District Council.
Sessions will be held at the following libraries:

Parents of children will also be able to seek out health related information which will be on display throughout the week in all libraries as well as borrow books on a variety of healthy themes.
CountyCouncillor and Cabinet Support Member for Cultural Services, Maureen Compton, said: "We are constantly being reminded of the rising obesity levels of children in this country, so educating them in healthy eating practices is extremely important. Children's sessions in Staffordshire's libraries are always popular so this is a fantastic way starting to get the message across."
