BE A REAL KNOCK-OUT AT ST GILES FAMILY FUN DAY!

Pubs, clubs and local companies now have the perfect excuse to pull on a silly costume and re-live the sports we were all glued to back in the Seventies.
With St Giles Hospice slipping into the role of a semi-hysterical Stuart Hall, local people are invited to take part in a foam-filled, fun-packed It's a Knockout competition - part of this year's Family Fun Day to be held at the hospice.
Opening at 11.00am on Saturday 9th August, the Fun Day has something for everyone, including carnival games, racing karts, face painting, a Kiddies Corner and countless stalls including a plant stall.
A beer tent, afternoon teas, hot and cold snacks will be on offer along with a grand prize raffle. There is also a chance to look inside St Giles Hospice as part of a tour by staff.
And at 12.30pm it's time to shout "Here come the Belgians!" as It's a Knockout kicks off with enormous inflatables, water slides, giant costumes and gallons of gunge, as courageous players enthusiastically ‘perform the pointless in the quickest possible time'.
It's going to be a real knock out!Sarah Shelton, Community Fundraiser for St Giles Hospice says: "This is a brilliant opportunity for people to have a go at playing the games we watched on telly in the Seventies. We need teams of 10 to join us, so get your friends, family and work colleagues to take part in this great event.
"If you want to take part but can not get a team of 10 together, please let me know and I will try and create a team made up of individuals and couples - no excuses for not getting wet!
"And for those who don't fancy being soaked to the skin or chased by a giant latex gorilla, there'll be plenty of other games and entertainments on offer during the day - as well as the chance to cheer on the teams."

St Giles Hospice is a registered charity offering high-quality medical and nursing care for people with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as providing support for their families and carers.
Patients come from across the hospice's catchment area, which ranges from Ashby de la Zouch and Atherstone in the east, to Cannock and Walsall in the west - and from Burton and Uttoxeter in the north, to Sutton Coldfield and Coleshill in the south.
Care is offered at the hospice's facilities in Sutton Coldfield and Whittington between Lichfield and Tamworth, or in patients' own homes across the region.
St Giles spends over £5.5 million every year providing its specialist services and with less than a third of this funded by the Government, relies heavily on donations and fundraising.
