A standing ovation at the opening night of The Lichfield Festival

The Lichfield Festival opened last night with a packed Cathedral and a standing ovation for Marin Alsop conducting the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. The American conductor was celebrated in a Guardian leader this morning for her contribution to music in this country.
