Celebrating high quality building projects across the district
Thumbs up for the projects! Over thirty local developers, friends, families and colleagues attended Lichfield's Built in Quality Awards today to celebrate the quality of new buildings across the district. From extensions, to new builds, to industrial units, awards were handed out in ten categories.
Fourteen buildings won awards and the winners were presented with a certificate to recognise their achievements by Cllr John Wilks, Chairman of Lichfield District Council and by Richard King, Corporate Director of Development.
Cllr John Wilks, Chairman of Lichfield District Council, said: "Lichfield is a beautiful historic city, surrounded by some of the Midland's most stunning landscapes. We all need to work together to retain the character of our district, and these awards celebrate the people and organisations who achieve the kind of standards that will continue to set our district apart.
He continued: "From a little cottage on Beacon Street, to the new hospital on Birmingham Road, to new commercial buildings in Plant Lane in Burntwood, I'd like to thank all the developers, big and small, who were nominated for and won awards. Delivering quality takes that little bit of extra effort, but is so important. Not only does it make our district even more attractive to live, work and visit for everyone, it also means the buildings themselves are more pleasant to use, accessible for the whole community, healthy and safe."
