Anyone for tennis?
Calling all young people - Burntwood Leisure Centre is hosting a free tennis festivalBurntwood Leisure Centre is hosting a free tennis festival for young people in the district, on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April.
On the Saturday, young people can improve their skills with free coaching session from LTA qualified coaches and get top tips from a tennis champion. Sessions run between 10am and 12pm for 5 to 11 years olds and 12.30pm and 2pm for 12 - 16 year olds.
On the Sunday, Burntwood Leisure Centre is hiring out their 2 tennis courts for free so children and adults can practise their skills. The free tennis courts are available on a first come first served basis, so visit Burntwood Leisure Centre reception to book your session.
Paul Watson, Manager of Burntwood Leisure Centre, said: "Tennis is a great cardiovascular workout, so this two day event is perfect to burn off those Easter eggs. We hope lots of young people come along and enjoy this fantastic opportunity and if you're feeling generous you can donate money to our chosen charity Barnado's. "
The donations raised will help run schemes like the Barnardo's Sandcastle Project, in Sandwell. This arranges short term breaks to families who have children with severe physical or learning difficulties, and also runs out of school activities for these young people.
Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. For more information or to book your free place, please contact Burntwood Leisure Centre on 01543 308810
