19th April
Celebrate International Women's Day at Netherstowe Youth Centre, St Chad's Road, on Saturday 19 April from 3pm to 7pm.
The International Women's Day working group invite all Lichfield District residents to come to North Lichfield to celebrate this year's event.
This year's theme is ‘Shaping Progress' and the day will feature a variety of presentations and activities. These will include: Staffordshire Buddies presentation, confidence building and holistic therapy with Tamworth and Lichfield College, nail art, a selection of Oxfam jewellery, a fashion show by Burntwood Youth Group, Fairtrade refreshments, and even a bra bank - so don't forget to bring along any old bras you want to throw away. The evening will culminate with everyone joining a drumming circle.
Jennie Crosby Community Development Manager, said: "We hope lots of people come along and help us to celebrate International Women's Day. The event offers locals a great opportunity to meet new people while enjoying all the interesting and fun activities."
Entrance to the afternoon of fun is only 50p, and all proceeds will be donated to a local cause. For more information, please contact Sarah Nash on 01543 308231.
This event has been organised by the International Women's Day working group, which includes: North Lichfield Initiative, Lichfield District Council, Staffordshire Youth Service, Tamworth and Lichfield College, HomeZone Living and District Council for Voluntary Service.
