A Day Out With a Difference

FAMILIES in the Burntwood and Lichfield areas are invited to a "day out with a difference" - a tour of their local police station.
Special open days are happening this summer at police stations across Trent Valley which also includes Burton, Uttoxeter and Tamworth.
The first open day is being staged at Chasetown police station in High Street next Saturday, 21 July, between 11am and 4pm.
The station is opening group its doors to the public as part of Chasetown fun day which will see the High Street closed off for a day of special events.
The police station open day will offer visitors a chance to have their fingerprints taken, meet local community officers and pick up crime reduction advice. You will also be able to get into the driving seat of a police patrol car.
Inspector Ashley Farrington, Commander of Burntwood Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: "We are looking forward to welcoming the public into the station. The whole day will be a fun, activity packed day out for all the family."
Lichfield police station in Frog Lane is staging its open day on Saturday, 11, August.
Visitors to the Lichfield station will be able to take a tour of police cells, have their fingerprints taken and meet local police officers between 11am until 4pm.
Inspector Mike Kozam, Commander of Lichfield Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: "We are often asked by groups if they can take a look around the station and this is an opportunity for anyone interested in police work to see how we operate."
"We are looking to have a wide range of fun activities for children, so we are urging parents to bring their youngsters along," he added.
Open days are also being staged at Burton Police Station, on Saturday, 25, August from 11am until 4pm. Uttoxeter Police Station on Friday,10, August between 10am until 2pm. Finally, Tamworth Police Station will be hosting theirs on Sunday, 19, August, starting at 11am, finishing at 2pm.
