26th January - Winter Bird Watching Walk
| Published: 9th January 2008 21:32 |
Come to Chasewater Country Park on Saturday 26th January at 2pm to join a bird watching walk
Organised by Lichfield District Council's Countryside Team and the Chasewater Wildlife Group, this free two and a half hour walk will introduce you to some of the birds that can be found at Chasewater.
Graham Evans, Chasewater Wildlife Group, said: "Learn about the migratory birds that visit Britain in the winter, and you might even spot one of the rare Great Northern Divers that arrived at the Country Park in December. The walk will end with the chance of seeing a superb sunset as thousands of gulls arrive to roost on the lake for the evening."
The walk will start from the Chasewater Innovation Centre at Chasewater Country Park at 2pm. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing, including waterproofs, and sturdy footwear as the ground may be muddy.
For more details about this event, please contact the District Council's Biodiversity Officer, Tamara Kabat, on 01543 308249.
