Feel Fruity at Your Library

Published: 16th June 2007 10:58

Libraries in the Lichfield District are participating in Health Information Week (2nd - 7th July) by hosting a range of events and activities for everyone.

The week kicks off with free blood pressure checks at Burntwood Library between 10am - 12 noon on Monday 2nd July. Team leader for ICT, Information and Local Studies Scott Rosenberg says "High blood pressure can be a health risk if it isn't identified and treated effectively. Often people are unaware they have high blood pressure so we hope people will take the opportunity to have a free blood pressure check by a qualified health professional."

On Thursday 5th July drop-in to Lichfield library between 9.30am - 1pm where Liz Askew Healthcare Librarian will be available to find you information relating to illnesses, diseases, prescription drugs, carer support and groups and more! Scott Rosenberg says "We are pleased to welcome Liz Askew to Lichfield Library" no booking requires, just drop-in for a chat between 9.30am - 1pm.

Basket of Fruit

Finally, get fruity at the district libraries on Friday 6th July! Scott Rosenberg says "Eating fruit and vegetables can help keep your body fitter, healthier and happier. As part of the 5-a-day campaign we are making fresh fruit available for our users to eat, kindly sponsored by Waitrose Lichfield.

Story times at Burntwood library on 5th July and at Lichfield Library on 6th July will be on a "Healthy Tots" theme.
