Hopefully your sunflowers are growing well in their pots and it is now time to be planting them outside in your garden. Here are some handy hints to help you on your way:
- sunflowers tend to grow best in well drained soil that contains a lot of mulch. However sunflowers can grow in different types of soil so don't worry too much about this. Preferably choose an area where you already have plants that are doing well.
- Try and ensure that the sunflowers are going to get maximum amount of sun - preferably 6 hours a day of direct sunlight.
- Plant the flowers about 1.5 feet apart fromone another.
- Support the plants using canes.
- Keep moist but do not over water
