CountyCouncillor for Lichfield City South, Terrence Finn said: "The name Erasmus Darwin is familiar to many people in Lichfield but the detail of his life and many achievements is lesser-known."
He continued: "Staff at the library are inviting people in Lichfield to go along to this talk to hear more about Erasmus Darwin's fascinating life and many accomplishments, both scientific and artistic."
The curator of Erasmus Darwin House in Lichfield will also be present to promote the Museum and answer enquiries.
Tickets cost £3.00 each or £2.50 for library members, and are on sale now at Lichfield Library. Scott Rosenberg, Lichfield's ICT, Information & Local Studies Team Leader, said: "This lecture is one of a programme of local history related talks and events we are holding at libraries in the Lichfield area this year."
