Following the sell out performance last year, We'll Meet Again returns to the Lichfield Garrick by popular demand
Audiences relive the spirit of the forties in a wonderful afternoon and evening of Hits from the Blitz, with lots of sing along tunes to bring back warm memories.
The celebration show pays tribute to the legendary stars of the war years, Vera Lynn, Donald Peers, Gracie Fields, George Formby, Bing Crosby, and famous comedians, Robb Wilton, Max Miller, and Tessie O'Shea. The show is set in wartime Garrison Theatre with the ENSA artistes.
Singer Mervyn Francis hosts the programme and introduces a superb cast of entertainers, including comedian Steve Barclay, a Don Estelle look alike, who brings hilarious comedy routines and songs to the programme. He's supported by Britain's greatest exponent of the Ukelele, Andy Eastwood. A new leading lady joins the show, Julia Burnett with her songs of Gracie and Vera. Multi instrumentalist Pete Lindup features all the brass instruments and recalls the Big Band era with Glenn Miller favourites. With smooth singing Tony Leyton at the helm, all the blitz vocal memories are tastefully portrayed.
The show promises not only to evoke the spirit of wartime Britain, but to experience the music and laughter that kept Britain smiling through her darkest days.
