It is commonly presumed that Nepalese food is very similar to Indian food, but our blend of spices adds a subtle flavour. We specially prepare our food with low cholesterol cooking oil, fresh ingredients and the finest blend of spices.

Our head chef Bijay Gurung has over 15 years of experience in preparing delicious Indian and Nepalese dishes. He previously worked at the Bombay Bicycle Club where celebrity chefs are regulars.

Our delicious main courses include slow cooked knuckle of lamb served on a bed of chick peas and home smoked chicken breast cooked in a masala sauce. Whatever you decide on, we aim to provide high standards of service and food that whets the appetite and truly represents the taste of Nepal. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and full of atmospheric details like the wooden ceiling-fans and the old pictures of the Gurkhas which all add to its character and charm.

"Chautari" is a Nepali word meaning a place to sit at a foot of a tree. Chautari's are found on the famous trails of Nepal and the crossroads in villages and in towns. They are resting places, providing shelter and shade. It also serves as a meeting place where people gather to discuss issues that concern them.
