The Parkinson's Disease Society (PDS) is the UK's leading charity dedicated to helping people affected by Parkinson's.
Each year, 10,000 people are diagnosed with the condition in the UK. Practical help, support and information is available to them, their carers and families through a UK-wide network of approximately 330 branches and support groups. These groups do much to raise awareness, and funds, for local services and ensure that people do not have to deal with their Parkinson's on their own.
The charity campaigns for a better quality of life for people with Parkinson's and spent almost £4m in 2006 funding research. The PDS also provides information and a local support network for people with Parkinson's, their families, friends and carers.
