Shenstone Cares Elderly Support Group
| Published: 21st February 2007 11:11 |

The Group offers support to older people who may have become isolated from friends and neighbours due to ill health or problems getting out and about. The group provides its services over a rural area of approximately 30 Square Kilometres (12 square miles). The area extends form Muckley Corner to Shenstone and Little Hay, to Stonnall and parts of Little Aston and Blake Street.
Shenstone Cares puts on a number of activities including:
- Supermarket Trip - 1st week of every month
- Pub Lunch - 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of each month
- Coffee Morning - 4th Wednesday of each month
- Talks and Presentations - regularly held at Shenstone library
- Transport and Escort to medical appointments
- Personal Advocacy - someone to speak to on your behalf
- Information desk and telephone link at Shenstone Library
In addition you could receive your own personal volunteer visitor, who would be personally matched to you by the groups' co-ordinator. Each volunteer is interviewed and references are taken up to ensure safety and security for you before you meet for the first time, and they make sure that you have plenty in common, so that your new friendship can flourish.
