Mulled Wine

Ingredients
1bottle of red wine
½ pint of water
4oz brown sugar
4 cloves (found in the spice and herb section of supermarket)
1 lemon
1 orange
1 stick of cinnamon
Method
1. Peel and slice the orange and lemon.
2. Pour the water into in a large saucepan and stir in the sugar, cinnamon and cloves.
3. Bring the mixture to the boil, stirring occasionally.
4. Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in the sliced lemon.
5. Let the mixture stand for 10-15 minutes
6. Pour in the red wine and heat up, do not boil!
7. Once the wine is thoroughly heated strain into a large bowl, preferably heated to keep the wine warmer for longer.
8. Ladle into mugs and add an orange slice into each one.
9. A splash of brandy can be added to the mulled wine if you fancy it!
