The Douglas Macmillan Hospice is a local independent registered charity for people in North Staffordshire and surrounding areas who are faced with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
Care, help and support is given to patients, their families and carers at the Hospice in Blurton and at home. "Each year we care for over 1,500 patients and their families either at home or in the Hospice". All care is given free of charge and we need to raise over £5.5 million each year to continue to provide each patient with individual care and to ensure the best quality of life possible.
There are lots of ways you as an individual, as part of a group or as a company/organisation can help raise the vital £5.5million needed each year:
EVENTS - with a diary of Hospice led events to choose from Run/walks to plush Ball's, there's an event for everyone.
CHALLENGES - always fancied undertaking a personal or team challenge such as Skydiving? Douglas Macmillan Hospice can point you in the direction of a number of companies that deliver.
RETAIL - with 11 shops throughout the city and an online Ebay site you can support us whether you are buying or selling.
CORPORATE SUPPORT - companies can support in various ways from taking part in such initiatives as the Christmas Poster Campaign to Recycling.
SMALL CHANGE BIG DIFFERENCE - personal collecting boxes used as swear boxes or the box next to the till in the staff canteen - small change makes a big difference.
