What is National Pet Month
National Pet Week is celebrating its coming of age in 2007 by extending the event to a whole month. Pet food experts Iams and Eukanuba are supporting this year's celebrations which take place from 7th April - 7th May 2007.
The theme for 2007 is 'Love Is' and the month will include a special 'Wet Nose Day' on 24th April 2007. Wet Nose Day is a unique day specifically designed for the public to celebrate pets and encourage communities and businesses to raise valuable funds by holding their own events. However, events and press stories will take place throughout the month, to keep people interested in responsible pet ownership and the benefits of pets to people all month long. All funds raised will go to pet and animal charities.
We're calling out to you to get involved in the action and hold your own event for National Pet Month! You've got a whole month to choose when is best for you!
Why Should I Get Involved?
National Pet Month is all about showing appreciation we have for pets, so if you want to show your love for our furry friends this year, and help ensure they are really well cared for, make sure you get on board. Why not organise an event - a sponsored dog walk, an animal show etc.
Although you don't need to include fund raising as part of your event, National Pet Month is a great vehicle to raise money for local causes. Anyone can get involved; members of the public raising funds, pet shops and Veterinary services raising awareness and understanding of even better pet care.
