Fenton Manor Sports Complex is hosting the British Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics later on this month.
Rhythmic Gymnastics is a female only sport which involves routines performed with hand-held apparatus, such as hoops and ribbons.
Nicky Richards, National Competition Organiser says 'This is the premier event in the domestic Rhythmic Gymnastics calendar and six of last year's seven champions are back to defend their titles. Several of the gymnasts on show have represented Great Britain on the international stage. 2006 Senior Champion Francesca Jones competed at the 2007 World and European Championships plus the 2006 Commonwealth Games.'
Cllr Adrian Knapper, portfolio holder for sport and leisure at Stoke-on-Trent City Council said, "I'm really pleased that Fenton Manor is hosting this national event. It's an opportunity to see some of the best gymnasts in our country compete in Stoke-on-Trent and I would encourage anyone who enjoys watching gymnastics to come along and spectate.'
