Decision on Royal George land delayed

A decision about the future of the site of the former Royal George pub in Brunton Park was due to have been made last Friday morning at Newcastle Council's Development Control Committee meeting.
The application was withdrawn from discussion at the last moment, pending the outcome of a flood assessment study.
The council's planners have already submitted a report recommending that this controversial development go ahead despite strong objections from local residents and councillors.
