The NSPCC is calling on people in Sunderland to get into the romantic mood this Valentine's day and make it a Valentine's to remember by wearing red for the NSPCC.
During Valentine's week 8-14 February, why not get sponsored to dress in red for the day and help raise money for the children's charity. Whether you're at home, in the office, or spending time with family, everyone can do their bit, as well as having loads of fun at the same time.
Paula Guanaria, NSPCC head of local fundraising, said:
Please do something heart- warming for vulnerable and abused children this Valentine's day by raising much-needed money for the NSPCC. Why not wear red shoes, a red dress or tie, or be as red-iculous as possible and war red pyjamas. Anything red for romance goes!".
To register for your Valentine's day fundraising pack please contact the local appeals team on 0113 2299 319 or send them an email and they will send you your sponsor forms. Then all you need to do is ask your friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor you before heading out in red!
Paula added: "Money raised will help the NSPCC to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children. Your support will enable us to expand the NSPCC's vital helplines - ChildLine for children and young people and the NSPCC Helpline for adults who are concerned about a child."
Why not even go the extra mile and make delicious Valentine's treats like Valentine's cakes and chocolate hearts and hold a sale in the office at lunchtime or charge people to guess how many red sweets there are in a jar. There are many ways to support the charity on the most romantic day of the year.

- Thanks a Bunch! Make a donation to the NSPCC when ordering Valentines flowers for a loved one.
- A Valentines Auction. Get rid of those unwanted Christmas presents by holding a presents auction - someone else may love that loud tie or those jazzy socks so put to use those disastrous gifts and help raise some money.

- Make a Wall of Kisses. At work why not pucker up and make pounds! Simply put a kiss on a card, using lipstick or lipgloss - pay an entry fee to enter your name/details. Put the "Kiss Card" onto a presentation "wall of kisses". On the Friday before Valentines Day, all the cards can be judged and a prize awarded for the best kiss.
