More Shooters for 2286
| Author: 2286 (Arden) Air Cadets | Published: 21st July 2012 09:32 |
After a busy Saturday, with training and weapons tests, an additional eleven cadets became eligible to shoot the number 8 rifle. The training involves normal safety procedures, the parts of the weapon, putting the bolt in and out of the weapon, firing and misfire drills. The cadets are then tested on this, both verbally and practically, before being given authorisation to actually shoot. The Squadron is extremely proud of the progress they have made in shooting and hope to improve standards to gain some of the cadets marksman badges. The Squadron’s thanks to the staff involved, particularly to CI Amy Seymour of 125 (Cheltenham) Squadron who came up to carry out the initial testing.
