Members of a local writers group, The Writers @ Lovedean visited Cineworld, Chichester to see The Woman in Black on Tuesday 21st February 2012. Matt Hawkey the Operation Manager at the cinema kindly gave the group a behind the scenes tour of the screens, digital projection rooms and the VIP lounge.
The writers enjoyed the film adaptation of Susan Hill's The Woman in Black in the luxury and comfort of the VIP seats. And they would like to take the opportunity to thank Matt Hawkey and the hospitality of Cineworld for a wonderful day out.
There were lots of chills and jumps as the group watched Hill's classic ‘Victorian' ghost story. It was a useful to have the chance to pick up the atmosphere of the empty screens and projections rooms, it should provide ample writing stimulus for the group. Trying to get your ‘finger' on the pulse of a different time, as Hill did with her ‘Victorian' short story was discussed afterwards.
The day certainly gave the writers something to think and write about. The group goes on four Write Out Days a year as well as evening events.
Anyone interested in writing should check out The Writers @ Lovedean web page.
Or just come along at 10am, Friday mornings at Lovedean Village Hall, 6A Lovedean Lane, Lovedean PO8 9ST.
