Esther Rantzen is encouraging London business leaders to support ChildLine's 25th anniversary through the Monday Movie Club

Published: 15th December 2011 15:43

ChildLine founder, Esther Rantzen, has made a plea to London business leaders to support the charity's 25th anniversary, by becoming members of the exclusive movie club for businesses and the clients.

ChildLine, with kind permission of top Hollywood and UK independent studios, has created The Monday Movie Club a unique way for companies to network and entertain clients and employees, whilst raising vital funds for the helpline and online service.

The Monday Movie Club is hosted at the May Fair Theatre in Stratton Street and annual membership costs from £1,000. Members are then invited to attend the screening of 12 movie previews a year, before general release, and companies already on board include Google, Yahoo, AOL, the Mirror Group and UKTV.

ChildLine Board Chairman and CEO of Mecom, Tom Toumazis who founded The Monday Movie Club, said: The only responsibility for Club members is to pay the joining fee and then turn up and enjoy the films; it really is as simple as that.

Chair of The Monday Movie Club, Lynne Millar, said: We have some great films lined up over the coming months, including Happy Feet Two, Sherlock Holmes and The Descendants. Our next screening will be on Monday 9 January 2012 of the fantastic biographical movie, J.Edgar.
