Common sense prevails on Parking Ticket

A local resident recently had his Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) cancelled due to 'an administrative error' from London Borough of Hillingdon Parking Services.
A PCN had been issued for not parking within the lines of the parking bay off Ruislip High Street. As can clearly be seen from the photos supplied by Parking Services, the vehicle was not parked within the white lines. But no allowance had been made for the neighbouring car which had illegally parked on the white line (just!).

Fortunately, common sense prevailed and upon challenging the PCN it was cancelled. The following letter was received, Although advising that the case was now closed, there was also a warning that future similar behaviour would not be tolerated
Recent statistics show that as many as 50% of parking offences in the Borough of HIllingdon, when defended in court, are cancelled.
