United Homes Milestone

Published: 8th March 2007 00:21

Mrs KempUnited House for Hillingdon Homes manages Hillingdon Council's 11,000 properties. To mark the occasion, refurbishment contractor, United House planted 50 trees in Sam Philips Woodland in Hillingdon and hosted a celebratory lunch for Mr and Mrs Marti along with their fellow residents at James Court.

Mr and Mrs Marti are living in one of the 4,800 homes across Hillingdon borough, which will benefit from bathroom and kitchen replacement as part of the council's £60.0 million refurbishment programme.

The couple were presented with a bouquet of flowers and a certificate to mark the tree planting by Hillingdon Homes Chief Executive Officer Tim Price, United House Strategic Relations Director Paul Nicholls along with Resident Liaison Officers Lorraine Pearce and Delia Costello.

Another of the sheltered housing unit's residents, Mrs Eileen Kemp, said Mrs Kemp said: "I am thrilled to bits with my new kitchen and bathroom, it has made such a difference to my home. Everyone has been wonderful * the Resident Liaison Officer came to talk to me about the work that was going to be done and took the time to explain everything. The workmen were also brilliant, they just came in and quickly got on with their job."

Tim Price, Hillingdon Homes Chief Executive Officer, said: "We're very pleased to be working with United House to deliver improvements to council tenants through the decent homes programme. Tenants have been very pleased with the results to date, and we look forward to bringing the rest of our homes up to the decent homes standard by 2008".

Managing Director of United House, Colin Dixon said: "The residents at James Court have been an absolute pleasure to work for and we were delighted to host their lunch. We decided to plant 50 trees in Hillingdon to represent the residents' 50 homes within the scheme and also to reaffirm our commitment to the environment especially in the communities where we work. We now look forward to continuing to work with Hillingdon Homes to make significant improvements to residents' homes and consequently the quality of their lives."
