Hi Everybody
Here is the latest update of events and happenings at The Kitchen Garden Cafe for November and beyond.
A reminder that we are now taking bookings for your Christmas Parties and Meals and we are also open for Lunch on Christmas Day. Call in at the Cafe to pick up a menu or let me know and I will send you an electronic copy. The Christmas menus will be available daytime and evening alongside the normal Cafe and Restaurant Menus from 1st December for any (but for bookings only before December 11th).
This month's Retort Cabaret show (this Sunday 2nd November) is headlined by the fantastic Julie Mckee who is promoting her new album "What a Woman Shouldn't Do" - "an absolutely gorgeous and highly original album." Gaydar, "Songs like these have waved entire generations off to war" musicOMH, "One of the finest collections of jazz-imbued pop you'll hear in all of 2008." Wildy's World, New York. More music comes from Julian Crook's new band The Cohn Brothers, a Beatles set from Retort regular Woll Beavil and more. Simon Pitt, ex-Birmingham Poet Laureate, provides some poetry and Comedy comes from Alek Maxwell (The Improlympians), Barry Bling and the Orchestra of Chaos, plus a farewell to Birmingham set from Dharminder Singh (Custard Balti) ... and more!
Also don't miss Sharon Lewis and Jont playing here on Sunday Nov 9th. London songwriter Jont is going to be big, so catch him while you can. He is promoting his wonderful new album Supernatural which is being played on Radio 2 by legendary DJ's Jonnie Walker and Jonathon Ross (although probably not at the moment as he has been suspended I believe!!), and also features on the American TV series Greys Anatomy. Jont is a bright star to watch out for, so don't leave it until he is only playing the big venues! Accompanying Jont, and returning to the Kitchen Garden Cafe to play to perform an intimate acoustic show is exquisite songstress Sharon Lewis (formerly of the female duo Pooka). Weaving a rare and compelling spell with delicate vocals and piano playing, Sharon is revered for her tender and heartfelt songs.
Finally, following the success of last year's Christmas Gift Fair we will be holding two this year, on Mon Dec 1st and Tue Dec 16th from 6.30 pm onwards. There will be plenty of locally made arts and crafts, plus food and drink including Mince Pies and Mulled Wine from the Cafe.
The full list of forthcoming events is copied below. To book tickets for any of these events (unless specified on the listing) or to reserve a table in the restaurant call 0121 443 4725, e-mail us on info@kitchengardencafe.co.uk or call in at the cafe.
Cheers
Brett
