Get inspired by the summer exhibition 'Lets Imagine: In the Jungle' Explore textile painting to create a 'wild' and colourful artwork with local artist Barbara Fidoe

Family Learning workshops are for children and their responsible adults to learn and play together. Some activities may be messy - please wear old clothes

Join Jim Morris for craft workshops based on our "Jungle" theme:

Monday 21st - Beaky Birds - make your own exotic bird-puppet.

Tuesday 22nd - Ani-Masks - come and create a funky carnival mask of your favourite jungle animal!

Wednesday 23rd - Bamboo Butterflies - how big and beautiful can a butterfly be?

Thursday 24th - Jungle Geometricks - check out these wacky collage-creatures and design your own.

Join us for a summer of creative family fun at The Herbert, inspired by the "In the Jungle" exhibition every Monday to Thursday our trained facilitators will lead arts and craft activities for children of any age to enjoy together.

Each day will have a different theme, but what you create is up to you and your imagination!

Style-a-Tile at the Priory Visitor Centre

Suitable for ages 5+

The Company of Artisans is returning to the Priory Visitors Centre for a fun filled two days of tile making. There will be demonstrations of medieval tile making as well as the chance to design and make your very own tile to take away. Why not visit us and see if you can be as creative as the Priory's medieval tile makers.

Please be aware the space at The Priory Visitors Centre is limited and there may be a short wait at busy times. All children should be accompanied by a responsible adult

 

Whats that game? at the Priory Visitor Centre

Suitable for ages 5+

Come and join The Priory Staff with Medieval fun and games. There will be a selection of medieval games to play such as Quoits and fox and geese with a chance to create your own version to take home and continue the fun. For younger children there is an opportunity to make a medieval doll as well as a family trail.

Please note that all children should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Some children may need help with reading instructions for the Medieval games.

 

 

Smell that! at the Priory Visitor Centre

Suitable for

Come and learn how to make a Tudor pomander or tussie mussie to take away those nasty Tudor smells! Use fragrant herbs, oranges and cloves as well as creating an individual design and decorating with ribbon.

There will also be a chance to design your very own coat of arms and a family trail!

Please be aware space is limited within the Priory Visitors Centre and at busy times there may be a short wait. All children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
