Keep Our Village Tidy!
| Published: 7th August 2008 19:25 |
After spending fruitless attempts at trying to get the Council to collect litter & tidy run down areas in our village, local Chapel Allerton resident, Angela Talbot has taken matters into her own hands and has set up Chapel Allerton Clean Up Campaign, in collaboration with the "The Big Tidy Up" event.
The event is to take place on September 28th from 10am - 4pm.
"I am looking for local residents and businesses to spare a few hours during September", explained Angela "to help clean up Chapel Allerton & make a difference to where we live !"
" Volunteers can do as little as just tidy their own gardens, or go litter picking on the streets. For the more energetic they can perhaps weed communal area's, cut back neglected hedges and maybe create new flowerbeds! The options are endless and the more people that help, the more of a difference we will make !"
Angela is also looking to local businesses for sponsorship to help create new flowerbeds and litter signs.
You can register your interest and idea's on http://www.litteraction.org/ and http://www.thebigtidyup.org/ or contact Angela Talbot directly on 07976 904484
