PanchaKarma - Purification Clinic
Panchakarma is a rejuvenating and purifying therapy to enhance the metabolic process through specialised treatments, food and herbal supplements.
It can be considered as a complete body de-tox programme. It is helpful in relieving many ailments as well as being beneficial for maintaining and improving physical and mental health.
Benefits can be seen almost immediately and include - clear skin; vitality; and excess fluid and weight loss.
The Panchakarma 2 week course consists of the following:
Purvakarma - this is to prepare the body for purification
After an initial consultation you will be given a tailored detox diet (you won't feel hungry as you can eat as much as you like) which you will follow for the 2 weeks. (People often choose to carry on with the suggested eating plan as the benefits they feel are so significant) In the first week you are given 2 deep massages with oils which help to eliminate toxins and move them towards the gastro intestinal tract.
Unlike some detox methods you won't feel any side effects such as headaches as the deep massages combat this.
Basti (Colonic Hydrotherapy)
This is to purify and rejuvenate the colon which is linked to all other organs and tissues of the body. It nourishes all tissues and removes toxins from the entire body. In other words Basti removes the waste from the body that has been brought to the colon by Purvakarma.
Helen Spence is a qualified Ayurvedic therapist (Ayurveda is a traditional Indian system of medicine that dates back over 5000 years). She studied at the Kerala Institute in New Delhi India where she specialised in Panchakarma therapies. She also has a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in health studies and has specialised in diet and nutrition.
