POSTURAL INTEGRATION
When you're recovering from an injury and you need mobilisation treatments you know where to go:to the physiotherapist. If you're body's aching and your muscles feel tight you also know where to go: the masseur. And if you're struggling with mental /emotional problems you also know where to go: a therapist.
But where do you go when e.g. your 'frozen shoulder' keeps occuring and you don't know why but suspect (or not!) that there is an underlying emotional issue? Or if a stiff neck is getting worse and worse and you know that it's directly related to your life situation but you feel too stuck to find your way forward on your own.
That's when contacting a practitioner of Postural Integration might be just the right thing. We work with the body and the mind.
Postural Integration spans the areas of bodywork/physiotherapy and counseling/therapy. It works with the interface of psyche and body. It works towards the healthy person in the healthy body by working with deep tissue bodywork, communication with the body, acupressure work and fine energy work. It is a holistic therapy.
A practitioner of P.I. is trained in deep tissue bodywork and in a combination of therapies (e.g. Gestaltherapy and Reichian Breathwork therapy). The practitioner went through all the physical and emotional processes and treatments in a 3 year training and only gets certified when proving visibles changes in clients/patients.
