New Year New You
What should I do?
Deciding what form of exercise best suits you is difficult there are many factors that you have to consider:
- Budget
- Time
- Health
- Personal Goals
- Location
When you have answered these points you can then select
Budget
How much can you spend weekly or monthly and then you can work out how to spread this between a range of activities that will give you a full body workout.
Time
How much time do you have to spend? Look at the less obviously slots of time like lunch breaks, walking to work instead of driving or getting the bus.
Goals
To loose weight you want to participate in any form of exercise, sport or activity that raises your heart rate enough that you are out of breath but can conduct a conversation. You will need to do this approximately three times per week 20-40 minutes. If you want to tone up look for Pilates, Weight Training, Stability Ball classes and general Abs type classes in your local community centres.
Budget Ways to get fit:
* Buy a stability ball to workout at home. For as little as £5-£20 you can get a tool that provides a full body workout and most come with exercise ideas too. Support this buy attending a community stability/fit ball class once or twice a month for fresh ideas.
* Buddy up and share a Personal Training session. Most Personal Trainers offer discounts for Two to One sessions which offers you the focused attention and intense workout at a discounted price.
* Look out for membership discounts and promotions. Most gyms and health clubs want your business so there are lots of offers. Remember your answers from above when selecting your health club.
InspiredExercise Top Three Tips to get Motivated
- Identify things that you enjoy doing
- Find Time - Look at periods of time that you can slot exercise in and write it in your diary as an appointment, like any other appointment if it's in your diary you'll keep it.
- Find A Friend - You are not the only one who wants to shape up this New Year so find a friend to exercise with.
