Making Art out of Litter
| Published: 27th July 2008 18:34 |
To help raise awareness of litter in Chapel Allerton and also to involve the schools in the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival in August, AboutMyArea has been runnning a competition for the local primary schools to create a piece of art out of litter. The results have been fantastic and the creativity and imaginative pieces that have been made are all outstanding.
The Metals Consultancy Company Ltd, Chapel Allerton - www.tmccl.co.uk kindly sponsored the competition. It was very hard to choose the winners as the entries were of such a high standard and everyone invovled had obviously put a lot of thought, time and effort into their pieces of art. Eventually however, the judges did decide on the following winners and these will be displayed at the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival in The Methodist Hall on Saturday 30th August, and will hopefully make visitors to the festival think more carefully about litter and how it affects their environment.
