North Leeds Eurosearch Recruitment held a ‘have your cake and eat it' event to celebrate National Temporary Workers Week.
Temporary Workers Week which ran from June 2nd to 6th was organised by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) aiming to raise the profile of temporary workers and their contribution to the UK economy. The REC is the trade association for the UK's £26.6 billion private recruitment industry. Eurosearch Recruitment celebrated by inviting the public to lunchtime information sessions with home-made cupcakes as a treat. Over a hundred people came along and discussed the benefits of temporary work.
Eurosearch Recruitment a member of the REC, was established in March 2007 and is providing staff to the IT, Commercial and Management sectors (amongst others) in the North of England.
Consultant Noshina Kiani said: "Initiatives such as National Temporary Workers Week are a great way to show our gratitude and appreciation to our temp team who have made the choice of pursuing a flexible lifestyle through working with us". Janice Marlow, Business to Business Consultant commented: "As the 2005 REC survey which investigates the reasons why people register for temporary work highlights, 54.4% of the participants quoted that flexible hours and lifestyle were their main reason for choosing temporary work. As they have found out, you can ‘have your cake and eat it!"
Helen Reynolds, Acting Chief Executive of the REC, stressed: "We are delighted that Eurosearch Recruitment has promoted National Temporary Workers Week in North Leeds and we hope that they had lots of fun and created much interest in promoting the tremendous contribution temporary, contract and interim workers make in keeping business moving."
More than 1.4 million temporary workers daily are assigned to jobs by recruitment and staffing agencies throughout the UK.
