Where to eat out?
Our Appetite! section is growing. So if you fancy a meal out without the hassle of a taxi into town, this is the place to find out what Kings Heath has to offer.
The fastest growing local media
Here's a big THANK YOU to all our loyal readers for supporting this community website and spreading the word.
We launched at the beginning of the summer with a partial service of holiday listings and local news. The site is still growing with more sections being added all the time and we have already overtaken more established websites in terms of numbers. In fact, the latest statistics show visitor numbers growing by an average 70 percent each month.
Kings Heath, Moseley, Brandwood, B14 and B13 are such busy areas we know there is a lot more information that can be added (The job will probably never be complete!) - so help us build this into an even better community resource. We will list your information for free....
Here are just a few examples...

First with local news
AboutMyArea/B14 was the first to break the story about a possible 20 minute passenger rail service from new stations at Kings Heath and Hazlewell. We were the first too, to announce a new green car club launching locally. We were the first with the local election result - updating the site in the early hours of the morning. There are stories too that are appearing on your LOCAL website, but haven't even made the radar of other local media.
Remember - this is the place to turn for your local news. Why not register for a free weekly newsletter
And we are the first to turn the news spotlight on the decay at Bell's Farmhouse in Druids Heath, after a national heritage report named it as one of the country's most threatened historic properties.
If you've got a news story - don't forget to email us
And there's more to come...
You will see more and more information being added to the site over the coming weeks and months. If there's anything missing, please be patient or let us know what we've missed - we really won't mind as this site is being built for YOUR community and we really welcome YOUR input.
Local listings
There are hundred there already - and thanks for all your comments about how useful it's been during the school holidays. There's still a lot of information to add - in a busy area like B14 there will always be new information to add. Just email us with details of any event you want listed.
On the left of every page you'll see a calendar of local events. It's always happily scrolling away to show you events for the coming month, or if you click there it will bring up details of all the events.
There's a great feature where you can choose to be reminded of any event with an automatic email alert.
Send us your news and information - and if you're a community group we can help set you up with space on the website and even do clever things like run an online forum and noticeboard. If you're involved in a local sports team why not send us your results for the sports news section?
Please tell us what you'd like to see on your new community website. Send us an email
