We're looking for people in the local community to continue the growth of the Kings Heath and Moseley websites
AboutMyArea B13 and B14, the twin websites covering Kings Heath and Moseley, now get more than 18,000 hits a month and attract more than 4,000 unique users.
This makes the local web the fastest growing local media and a growing resource for community information.
New developments in 2008 are allowing local people direct access to the site to post their own content and encourage debate. Community groups and schools are given their own pages for free - and a calendar lists local events.
To continue this growth we are now looking for extra support from community-minded individuals. The opportunities range from becoming a contributor or sub-editor, with access to the site editing facility, or as a sponsorship and advertising co-ordinator.
If you want to make regular contributions we are on the lookout for writers on any topic of local interest - gardening, arts, local history, sport perhaps.
If you run or help publicise a local group, then sign up as a contributor and you can make AboutMyArea your own website to communicate with members and promote your activities.
To fund the site we rely on support from local businesses. We support them by publicising their business and we offer cost effective promotions in return. If you have experience in media sales and local promotions, you could help fund the site and even earn a commission.
Or if you have any other ideas for continuing the success of the community websites, please click to send an email.
