Brief Company Overview

AboutMyArea is one of the fastest growing franchises in the UK today. Having broken the 50 franchisee barrier within the first year and with over 200 post code areas already taken our growth during the first two years trading has been phenomenal. We are expanding fast and our move to Fort Dunlop is further testament to our commitment to become one of the UK’s leading media businesses.

With in excess of 2800 possible postcode based franchise areas in the UK alone, and with enquiries from areas all over the world the opportunity for growth over the next 5 years is exceptional. Currently, we receive 10 – 15 franchisee enquiries every day. As a result of this we are taking on additional people in the franchise response team. This will of course continue our rapid growth even further.

Having identified a unique business proposition, AboutMyArea provides individuals with the opportunity to manage and operate their own local community website providing genuinely local community news and information.

AboutMyArea provides franchisees with sales training and advertising sales support for the first 12 months to get them going and develop an income stream for them to take over themselves within 12 months.

Recent web surveys have shown that the majority of internet searching is done by local people looking for local goods and services. In testing Rachael Taplin, a director and co owner of AboutMyArea has achieved advertising revenue sales of up to £300 per hour!!!

Franchisee Account Executive

Franchisee Account Executive urgently required for fast-growing, national media brand. If you can build rapport, handle objections and close along with caring about the community then this is the ideal role for you!

It is essential for this role that candidates possess outstanding communication skills, a tenacious approach and the desire to succeed!

The successful candidate will work within an internal sales team, speaking with prospects via the telephone although face to face meetings are also an important part of the role.

This role is based at the prestigious Fort Dunlop Building in Birmingham and offers excellent facilities including a free shuttle service to Birmingham City Centre, bars, restaurants and much more!

This role offers a very competitive basic salary which exceeds industry standards. An excellent commission package is also available.

Receptionist / Admin Assistant

Receptionist/Admin assistant to join us at our new prestigious office at Fort Dunlop near Star City. We are a fast moving media and internet business with a young and dynamic attitude towards getting things done.

This position would suit an ambitious college leaver or someone who is looking to get in to a busy, fast-paced office environment. You will need to be smart and presentable, confident with a positive attitude and a sunny disposition. You will also need good computer skills, be able to answer telephone calls and deal with a range of administrative jobs including filing, letter typing, managing diaries and generally providing support to the management team.

Excellent working environment in brand new offices near to Star City with loads of facilities on site including coffee/wine bars, restaurant, hotel, gym, roof garden and bbq area.

Sales & Promotions Executive

Sales & Promotions Executive urgently required for fast-growing community information website. If you can sell, care about the community, and can write good copy, this is the ideal job for you.

Requirements for the positions are computer/internet literacy, sales experience, full driving license and car.

The successful candidate will work on the field and from the office (Fort Dunlop near Star city), selling advertising to businesses on the local website. Also general maintenance of the site will be needed for which training will be provided.
