Magna Lose Domestic Abuse Contract

Magna West Somerset Housing Association and care and support providers Stonham have lost the contract for the domestic abuse service across Somerset.
Chapter 1, a national organisation, was the successful bidder for the contract, which was awarded by Somerset County Council in April.
Two members of the domestic abuse team will transfer to Chapter 1, which is expected to take on the new contract from 1 July 2012.
Magna had been running the domestic abuse service in West Somerset for ten years. Stonham, worked in the Sedgemoor and Mendip areas for many years.
Barbara Mullan, community services manager at Magna, said: "If anyone is suffering from domestic abuse or knows someone else who is, they can contact the free and confidential Somerset Domestic Abuse advice line on 0800 6949999."
