Old Warden Aircraft Incident

Trevor RocheBedfordshire Police can confirm that the pilot involved in an aircraft crash at Old Warden this morning (July 1) has died. He was later named as Trevor Roche, a former RAF pilot.
The incident happened at around 9.45am at Old Warden Aerodrome (Shuttleworth Collection) as 600 people attended a Military Pageant Air Show.
Members of Bedfordshire Police along with Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service, East of England Ambulance Service and the aerodrome's own fire service attended the incident to assist the pilot - who was in his 40s - but he was pronounced dead soon afterwards
The incident is being investigated by the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB).
No further details of the pilot will be announced until a Coroner's inquest is opened.
