There is plenty for children to do during August as part of the South Northants SPLAT - a wide range of activities many in villages.
My Box Design
Shape and personalise your special box, decorating it inside and out, with artist Sarah Bament. Bring an empty box if you like, no smaller than a shoe box. Bring a packed lunch and drink. Age guide: 11 to 16 yrs. £18 including materials.

Felt Pictures
Have fun hand-making felt from sheep’s wool with soapy water and create a colourful picture to take home and (Towcester) to display in St Lawrence Church Flower Festival with felt artist Heidi Street-Ward. Bring an apron as this is a wet activity. Age 5 to 7 yrs should be accompanied by a responsible adult. £10 including materials.

Design and make a photo/picture frame using modroc in the morning and decorate it in the afternoon, to display your favourite photo or your own painting. Awesome! Be prepared to get messy – bring protective clothing. Bring a packed lunch and drink. Age guide: 8 to 14. £18 including materials.

Summer Songwriting & Dance Week
Always listening to music and singing along or dancing? This is for you! Five days of creating and recording your own songs and performing them with dance on the last day to family and friends. Design your group’s CD cover and poster too. No instruments or dance experience needed. Music tutor Amy Clayton and dance tutor Chenade Pilgrim will inspire and coach in group workshops. Traditional circus skills with entertainer Kevin Burke. Stilt-walking, diabolo, plate-spinning, flower sticks, juggling… learn new tricks, or have a go at something different. Kevin helps you choose an activity to perfect on your own, or develop a routine with others, ending up with a performance to show off your favourite activity.
