Local Birmingham actress to switch on Christmas lights

Kings Heath actress - and Coronation Street star - Janice Connolly is to switch on the town centre's Christmas lights on Sunday 29 November at 3.30pm.
Santa will be there on his sleigh too and there will be music, entertainment and prizes for children, the organisers say.
The lights along the High Street and side streets such as York Road and Poplar Road have been organised by Kings Heath businesses working together.
Janice, who lives just off the High Street, first became famous with her alto-ego of stand-up comedy housewife Mrs Barbara Nice. She then appeared on TV as Holy Mary in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights and recently landed the role of Sheila Wheeler in Coronation Street.
Following the Christmas lights switch-on there will be a carol service at All Saints Church, with music by the Central England Concert Band. Food and drinks after Christmas Carol Service are being provided by the Kings Heath Business Association.
