Kings Heath pavements blasted for gold medal

Council workers have been busy blasting the grime off pavements in Kings Heath in a bid to win a floral gold medal for the town centre.
Work got underway in Sunday evening with a high-powered jet wash being applied to the High Street. It should give a deep clean to the paving stones and blast off any dried-on chewing gum.
The washing, organised by Kings Heath Centre Partnership is all part of a concerted effort to win a gold medal in the Heart of England round of the Britain in Bloom competition.
Judges will be touring the town centre next Monday, when they will be taken around the Kings Heath floral trail and checking on the cleanliness of the High Street.

There will be a last minute push for like minded people to help get Kings Heath ready for Heart of England in Bloom judging day on Monday 19 July.
Meet at The Station pub on SUNDAY 18 JULY at 7 P.M. for some night before litter picking of "grot spots"
and to erect some Floral Trail railing banners. Orgainser Bob Prew says they also hope to go for a drink afterwards (but not too many as some of us have to try and impress the judges on Monday!)
All you need to bring is a pair of gloves and yourself he says.
